Hector Berlioz (1803-1869), was a prominent French composer of the Romantic era. He is widely regarded as one of the most innovative and influential composers of the 19th century. His treatise "Treatise on Instrumentation" is considered a landmark in the history of orchestration which influenced composers like Wagner and Debussy. Some of his popular works include, Symphonie Fantastique, Les Troyens (The Trojans), The Damnation of Faust, Requiem Op.5 and Romeo and Juliet, Op. 17.
