Sigfrid Karg-Elert (1877–1933) was a German composer and organist known for his prolific output of works, particularly for the organ. He composed in a variety of genres, including chamber music, piano music, orchestral works, and choral compositions, but he is most celebrated for his contributions to organ literature. While he composed a vast number of works, some of his notable compositions include the "66 Chorale Improvisations" for organ, the "Trois Impressions" for flute and piano, and the "30 Caprices for Flute Solo."
